Air Cargo Consignments

Austasia air cargo to and from Dili is consigned via Singapore using a SilkAir 319 Airbus. As SilkAir is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, we recommend Singapore Airlines for cargo to Singapore as air cargo transfer procedures are already in place.

All air cargo Agents have been advised that no consignment is to be accepted for forwarding to Dili via Singapore unless the following documentation is provided:

  1. Commercial Invoice must be prepared and provided to the air cargo agent. This must be on company letterhead addressed to the company receiving the goods on Dili.
  2. Statement of contents must be prepared and provided to the Air Cargo agent. This document must contain the approximate weight of the consignment, the number of packages delivered to the freight agent and a detailed description of the goods.

Any consignments without this paperwork will not be accepted by the Air Cargo agent.

For Consignments ex Perth go to Freightshop website at www.freightshop.com.au to obtain statements of contents.

For unaccompanied personal items and baggage forwarded as cargo, a Customs form B534 will be required. This can be provided by the freight agent.

Dangerous Goods

Carriage of dangerous goods is not permitted under any circumstances.

Live Animals

Carriage of live animals is not permitted under any circumstances

Cargo Item Weights

An overall weight restriction applies for all cargo consignments. Items in excess of 150 kgs can not be accepted. Any items in excess of 120kgs should be the subject of advance notice to Austasia Airlines, as special bracing may be required in the aircraft, and special handling required at Christmas Island to safely offload these items.

Cargo Dimensions

These are restricted by the floor and cargo door dimensions of the aircraft, an Airbus A319. This type of aircraft does not carry containers, and all items must comply with size restrictions. The table below indicated maximum dimensions of cargo.

Note that some latitude is allowed with these figures, particularly in relation to articles that are not heavy. Should oversized carriage be required, it is necessary to contact Austasia Airlines before consigning the goods. Austasia will then obtain special clearance to carry the goods providing they will fit into the cargo compartments.
